12hrs in Berlin / little guide

It was only second time I were in Berlin, but I'm totally sure that it can be my place (and actually I hope so because of my love to german and susages). I knew where I would to go, because since my last visit I collecting random adresses. Even so just before trip I made big review (in polish, english and german) and I couldn't find any much recommendations. This is one of the reasons I decided to prepare my little Berlin guide. There is where you can go, if you have some hours to spend in the center of Berlin.

First: the thing, that you totally have to buy is daily ticket. It costs 6.70€, is valid for every S- and U-bahn and you can buy it from the vending machine at the (every?) station. 

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
We started our trip from Zoologischer Garten Bhf station and went to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (at Breitscheidplatz). I don't like visiting churches, but this one is really cool. And actually it's on the way to some shops, so why not? Then, after some meters, you'll get to the Kurfürstendamm street. You can find there lots of shops, but in my opinion the most interesting of them are &other stories (Kurfürstendamm 234), Urban Outfitters (Kurfürstendamm 19) and COS (Kurfürstendamm 217).

Tiergarten
Then you can go to see Postdamer Platz - my absolutely obsession favourite place. Next to it there are Sony Center (looks beautiful outside) and a piece of the Berlin Wall. You can also go to the Salvador Dali's Museum (Leipziger Platz 7) - we weren't there because of a little time, but next time it's my must. Going straight on the Ebertstraße, you'll get to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, then to Brandenburg gate, and then, going this street, to Reichstag (Platz der Republik 1).

Mitte
When you go through Brandenburg gate, you'll be on Unten den Linden street, and after some meters there'll be crossing with Friedrichstraße. Here you must to decide, if you're going to left or right - we went to right. There are lots of shops, inter alia COS again (Friedrichstraße 86), some h&ms and Quartier 206 (Friedrichstraße 71). Going this way you'll get to the Checkpoint Charlie (former entrance to the American sector). Next to it we ate pizza in Sotto Sopra (Friedrichstraße209), but if you want to eat something more regional, you can go to the Checkpoint Curry 207 (Friedrichstraße 207) or buy a pretzel. Also near (about 100m?) from Checkpoint Charlie there is small but funny Currywurst Museum (Schützenstraße 70).
If you want to see also the second part of Friedrichstraße, you can go there with an U-bahn (U6, violet line, to the Friedrichstraße station). Next to the underground station there is Weekday (Friedrichstraße140) - absolutely the best shop from all where I've been this or previous time. Going down this street you can find also Lush (Friedrichstraße 96) and Gina Tricot (Friedrichstraße 94a) - I don't know what more, because we haven't got enough time to check it. If you decide to go up the street, you get to Spree.
From Friedrichstraße station you can go to the Alexanderplatz station. There you can see Fernsehturn (TV tower) and - what a suprise - Alexanderplatz. When you go Alexanderstraße and then Memhardstraße, you'll finally get to the Münzstraße and Neue Schönhauser Straße. There you can find American Apparel (Münzstraße 19), Monki (Münzstraße 20), Acne Studio (Münzstraße 23), Weekday (Neue Schönhauser Straße 17-18) and COS (Neue Schönhauser Straße 20) again and Made in Berlin (Neue Schönhauser Straße 21a) - the vintage store.

There are of course much more places, where it's good to go when you're in Berlin - this is only a little part of them including the "must see things" and some shopping places. But to be honest - 12 hours is really too little to see this amazing town. Anyway, I hope that it helps you during your trip (or makes you want to go there).



/Byłam w Berlinie dopiero po raz drugi, ale czuję, że naprawdę mogłabym tam zamieszkać (właściwie taką mam nadzieję, między innymi ze względu na miłość do niemieckiego i kiełbasy). Właściwie wiedziałam dokładnie gdzie chcę iść już dużo wcześniej, ale mimo tego tuż przed wyjazdem zrobiłam naprawdę duży przegląd (po polsku, angielsku i niemiecku) i  nie znalazłam znalazłam niewiele rekomendacji. Między innymi też dlatego zdecydowałam się zrobić swój mini przewodnik z miejscami, które warto odwiedzić jeśli ma się kilka godzin w centrum Berlina.

Przede wszystkim najważniejszą rzeczą w Berlinie (chyba, że uwielbia się chodzić) jest bilet dobowy. Kosztuje 6.70€, obejmuje wszystkie linie S- i U-bahnów i można go kupić w automacie na (prawie?) każdej stacji metra. Nie polecam jeżdżenia bez biletów, bo kary są naprawdę wysokie.

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
Zaczęliśmy zwiedzanie ze stacji Zoologischer Garten Bhf i pierwszym miejscem, do którego poszliśmy był Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (na Breitscheidplatz). Nie lubię chodzić po kościołach, ale ten jest naprawdę super, poza tym jest po drodze do kilku sklepów, więc czemu nie? Tuż obok jest Kurfürstendamm. Jest tam naprawdę mnóstwo sklepów, najciekawsze moim zdaniem to &other stories (Kurfürstendamm 234), Urban Outfitters (Kurfürstendamm 19) i COS (Kurfürstendamm 217).

Tiergarten
Później warto zobaczyć Postdamer Platz - moją obsesję moje ulubione miejsce. Niedaleko niego jest Sony Center (wygląda pięknie z zewnątrz, wewnątrz nie byłam) i kawałek muru berlińskiego. W okolicy jest też muzeum Salvadora Dalego (Leipziger Platz 7) - nie zdążyliśmy co prawda tym razem tam wejść, ale następnym razem na pewno nie odpuszczę. Idąc prosto Ebertstraße dojdziecie do Pomnika Pomordowanych Żydów Europy, później do bramy brandenburskiej, aż ostatecznie do Reichstagu (Platz der Republik 1).

Mitte
Po prześciu przez bramę brandenburską będziecie na Unten den Linden, którą po kilkuset metrach przecina Friedrichstraße. Tu musicie zdecydować czy idziecie w prawo czy w lewo - my poszliśmy w prawo. Znajdziecie tam mnóstwo sklepów, między innymi znowu COS (Friedrichstraße 86), kilka h&mów i Quartier 206 (Friedrichstraße 71). Idąc tą drogą dojdziecie do Checkpoint Charlie (dawne wejście do sektora amerykańskiego). Tuż przy nim jedliśmy naprawdę smaczną pizzę w Sotto Sopra (Friedrichstraße209), ale jeśli wolicie coś bardziej regionalnego możecie kupić wursta w Checkpoint Curry 207 (Friedrichstraße 207) albo precla. Niedaleko jest też małe ale warte zobaczenia Currywurst Museum (Schützenstraße 70).
Jeśli chcecie zobaczyć też drugą część Friedrichstraße możecie tam podjechać metrem (U6, fioletowa linia, do stacji Friedrichstraße).Tuż przy wyjściu z podziemia jest Weekday (Friedrichstraße140) - absolutnie najlepszy sklep ze wszystkich w których byłam tym i poprzednim razem. Idąc w dół ulicy znajdziecie też Lush (Friedrichstraße 96) and Gina Tricot (Friedrichstraße 94a) - nie wiem co jeszcze, bo nie mieliśmy wystarczająco czasu, żeby przejść całą. Jeśli pójdziecie w górę, dojdziecie do Szprewy.
Ze stacji Friedrichstraße możecie dojechać na stację Alexanderplatz. Tam zobaczycie Fernsehturn (wieżę telewizyjną) i - co za niespodzianka - Alexanderplatz. Jeśli pójdziecie Alexanderstraße, a później Memhardstraße, dojdziecie w końcu do Münzstraße i Neue Schönhauser Straße. Warto tam zajść do American Apparel (Münzstraße 19), Monki (Münzstraße 20), Acne Studio (Münzstraße 23), Weekdaya (Neue Schönhauser Straße 17-18), COS (Neue Schönhauser Straße 20) i Made in Berlin (Neue Schönhauser Straße 21a) - sklepu vintage.

Oczywiście w Berlinie jest o wiele więcej miejsc, które warto zobaczyć - to tylko mała część z nich, zawierająca "rzeczy obowiązkowo do zobaczenia" i kilka sklepów. Ale bądźmy szczerzy, 12 godzin to zdecydowanie za mało żeby naprawdę zwiedzić to miasto. Tak czy siak, mam nadzieję, że ten przewodnik choć trochę wam się przyda, albo przynajmniej zachęci was do wyjazdu.
